10/01/2009

Nova Scotia golf courses offer stunning seaside views and cater to all playing abilities. Fall is the perfect time to plan a tour of our world--renowned courses and picturesque golf resorts.

For those who want to golf Nova Scotia, there are over 60 public golf courses. Beautiful Cape Breton is home to the world renowned "fabulous foursome" of golf courses, including public courses and Nova Scotia golf resorts.

Of particular interest are two new courses that are being recognized on international levels.

The Lakes Golf Club in Ben Eoin will be a world-class, five-star, Graham Cooke designed golf course scheduled to open Spring 2009. It is being constructed on 3 plateaus where the maximum elevation of 150-feet above sea level will provide beautiful vistas of the rolling hills and waters of the Bras d’Or Lakes.

Louisbourg Resort Golf & Spa, a $300 million development on Cape Breton Island, has already won two of the world's most prestigious international awards - and is yet to be completed! The resort has been awarded the prestigious titles "Best Golf Development Canada" and "Best Golf Development Americas" in the world-renowned International Property Awards 2008, in association with CNBC. The development includes two golf courses designed by Nick Faldo, captain of the 2008 European Ryder Cup Team and 6-time Major Champion. The Championship course (The Fortress) is due to open in 2010. On-site amenities will include a European Spa, a family recreation centre, various restaurants and a conference centre.
